AAI research group
Procedure for master theses (examensarbeten) in the Adaptive systems group
We generally offer several master theses each year. Students who wish to carry out a thesis in our research group should either (i) contact the group leader (Prof. Mattias Wahde) or (ii) another senior group member (currently: Krister Wolff, Peter Forsberg, Ola Benderius, or Mauro Bellone).

For theses supervised by other group members: The requirements may vary, and students should check with the respective examiner (see the list above).

For theses supervised by me (Mattias Wahde): In this case, the requirements are as given below. In order to be considered for such a master thesis, you must have:

1.    ...completed the Stochastic optimization algorithms course, with grade 4 or better.
2.    ...completed the Intelligent Agents course, with grade 4 or better.
3     ...good mathematics skills, as evidenced by your grade in the various mathematics courses.
4.    ...good programming skills in C#. NET (which follows automatically from 2. above).
5.    ...good writing skills. The requirements on the report are strict.

I only care about your individual abilities. Any skills related to group work etc. are completely irrelevant in this context.

I will not supervise industrial master theses (for such theses, please contact any of the other examiners above). Instead, I will supervise theses related to current research topics. I select the topic of the thesis, but the students have some possibility to influence the contents.

Since I will be on parental leave from early 2018 until Sept. 2018, I will not take any master students until Sept. 2018 at the earliest. From that point onwards, I will select master students three times a year (from the list of candidates available at the time): In April, September, and December.
